Strike Witches First Volume DVD a Big Hit!

September 26 2008 - Strike Witches First Volume DVD of the anime was released for sales. It was a mashing success because sales reports have reported up to 10,961 copies sold in Japan. Strike Witches is said to be the first anime produced by GONZO to ever sell 10,000 copies of a single volume.

Strike Witches sold over 10,000 DVDs for it’s Very First Volume!

And who says piracy is wrong? In addition to this, GONZO has taken another step in order to acquire more sales for Strike Witches, Blassreiter and The Tower of Druga: the Aegis of Uruk. Streaming videos would be added on YouTube and Crunchyroll.

Source of  sales reported have been an anonymous post on 2ch forums. Yet to be supported by another source. We’ll wait and see for the fantastic news XD.

Strike Witches First Volume DVD a big hit!

Besides that, looking at AkibaBlog of the Strike Witches DVDs being hot and completely sold out at some locations, definitely think they made past the mark of selling 10,000 copies. And I’m so envious of Japan because otakus can buy anime volumes from stores unlike us - we resort to importing them T_T.

If you love watching pantsus in action, the Limited Edition of the First Volume of Strike Witches is still available at CDJapan. Retail price is at 7,800 yen. Buy now, regret later =)
