Dragonball Evolution Trailer

So what happens when you mix one of the most popular mainstream anime ever with Hollywood?
Apparently a Dragonball Movie… It comes out in 2009 for those lucky enough not to have heard about it yet, and a decent trailer was just released. All I can say is – Goku is American o.o
I’m not even sure who this movie is targeted at? Little kids? Because they don’t show Dragonball or Z any more… Older fans? Because no one above the age of 15 is going to have the guts to go see this moviexD

I don’t mind that Hollywood wants to adapt some anime into live action – as long as they do it well. If Dragonball evolution fails (which it will… or SHOULD) then it will put a bad mark on possible future productions such the Akira live action movie, or projects like the Evangelion Live action movie which haven’t even got off the floor yet.
Dragon Ball Z was the first anime I ever saw… It was the reason I started watching anime in the first place… but i don’t think it was a good series to transform into a movie. Dragon Ball was already destroyed by Dragon Ball GT and half a dozen Brawly movies… just let it rest. If they wanted a mainstream anime on the big screen I think even Pokemon would have been a better choice evenxD
Here is the trailer:
Now… I do think there are some interesting series that could make nice Hollywood movies… Evangelion Maybe? Rurouni Kenshin =D? If they wanted something already mainstream Fullmetal Alchemist would have been an interesting choice. The Legend of Zelda games maybe? (granted Link never talks o.o). But honestly Hollywood is so focussed on milking series and lots of money it rarely makes quality work anymore… and if they aren’t going to do a good job its better for them not to ruin it in the first place o.o

Depends on the way they do things; if they put some Caucasian actor as Kenshin, I swear I will never watch that movie.
Dragonball evolution == DOA movie with more effects== epic fail.
