Looking up anime news this morning I ran across a title with the words “Yotsubato!” and “Anime” in the same sentence and I nearly jumped out of my seat. Unfortunately it was the mangaka AGAIN saying that they have no intention of allowing Yotsubato to be animated… along with excuses that make no sense.

For those of you who have not read Yotsubato you need to put down the Naruto, the World of Warcraft… or Playstation 3 Little Big Planet (lol Zen) and read ASAP. Its made by the same person as Azumanga Daioh, what all Slice of Live/Comedy Anime should aim to be. Yotsubato!, instead of being focused on the lives of “normal” high school girls, is mainly focused on a little girl Yotsuba and her random life lessons. On more than one occasion its made me laugh to the point of tears.

The Author’s supposed main concern about this series being animated is the story flow won’t translate well to Anime. Well thats a complete lie. Anyone who read the Azumanga Daioh! Manga I’m sure was in complete shock when they saw how well it was converted to Anime… the manga was written in four panel strips rather than in a chapter format! Yotsubato! Is full chapters at least.

The Author has announced on more than one occasion now that they have no plans of an anime… It makes me very sad D= I’ll go drown my sorrows in Yotsuba related videos and Pancakes now.
