Sengoku Basara Limited Edition Bento

Folks in Japan will be able to purchase this awesome Sengoku Basara Limited Edition Bento by Kobayashi, a bento producer based in Sendai City in the northern Japanese prefecture of Miyagi. Until December 31, 2009, the vendors at Japan Railways station in Sendai will sell the bento.

Sengoku Basara Limited Edition Bento

The Sengoku Basara anime version of the real-life samurai Masamune Date adorns the wrapping on the Dokuganryuu Masamune Bento. Who would consume the bento after buying?XD. Keep it!!

The bentō helps promote the “Sendai-Miyagi ‘Date na Tabi’ Campaign,” which will bring sightseers of historical Japan to northern Japan during the last three months of 2009. As the powerful warlord of Northern Japan, Date made Sendai his base of operations; remnants of his Aoba Castle still stand near the city to this day. The bentō’s name comes from Date’s nickname, “Dokuganryū” (”One-Eyed Dragon”). Legend has it that he tore his own right eye out after losing it to smallpox. The box is filled with sasa-kamaboko (bamboo-leaf-shaped fish cake), shiso-maki (shiso-leaf roll), and other culinary specialties of northern Japan.

Sounds and looks delicious. Couple of other Sengoku Basara food products can be seen here. Wow, I know I will just be tempted to purchase one ^_^”.
