New 250GB PlayStation 3 Slim Announced
The PlayStation 3 Slim did well (in fact very well) when it was released in Japan. However, it is not just Japan that has an increase in sales. The official PlayStation Blog reported that 1 million PS3 Slims were sold in the first 3 weeks after launch. And now, Sony is announcing the new 250GB PS3 Slim which is due out in November 3, 2009.
There’s nothing different in terms of looks and system though. The new 250GB PS3 Slim will perform and look exactly like how a PS3 Slim should, just that it has more hard drive space. This new PS3 Slim will cost you $349.99 USD (~$487 SGD). I’m not a PlayStation 3 owner, so I don’t know if this is a good deal.

Some of you guys should know that I am planning to get a PS3 Slim myself, and I’m sure a lot of you guys are much more knowledgeable about this than me. So I’m gonna take this opportunity to ask for your opinions. Should I get the 250GB PS3 Slim, or just the normal 120GB? I’m probably just gonna use it to put my movies, photos and games. Will the 120GB of hard drive space get used up quickly? Thanks in advance for your opinions!
I am tempted to get this PS3 Slim Uncharted 2 bundle =D. Wonder if I should get this one instead or the inevitable FFXIII bundle o.o (NOT talking about the FFXIII skinned PS3 Slim).

So how much is the 120GB there?
Personally, 120GB is more than enough. I find 80GB is more than enough as well but as u can see the more HD space gives u more options to store games, movies, music and other media. The question you should ask urself is, will u be downloading a lot of games from the PSN store u movies, music etc, on the PS3?
The reason 40GB is more than enough for me is, I don’t downlaod many games from the PSN and I don’t store my movies and music on it. My computer is the central box for all of that and work and the PS3 is solely used for my gaming needs and watching blu-ray movies, nothing more.
I personally recommend the 120GB as it’s cheaper than the 250GB. If u can wait, I would recommend the FFXIII bundle as I know ur a ‘die-hard’ FF fan. xD
Off course, if Uncharted 2 tickles ur fancy then why not get one now rather than later. :)
Besides, I congratz u for resisting for this long. I know it’s hard since u feel ur missing out of the fun but honestly, IT WILL GET HARDER WHEN FFXIII IS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ><

Hmm… I too felt that 120GB should be enough. It’s just that I’m not so sure how the PS3 works. Like I dunno if certain games will require you install parts of it into the console. But since you said that 40GB should be enough, and my PS3 usage will probably be the same as you, then I guess I’m pretty much going for the 120GB. Unless there is a bundle for an 80GB PS3 Slim, then I may go for that one instead XD.
Hmm but I am only going to work part-time around March next year to earn money to buy it. Hope there will still be bundles for sale by then >.< .
With all the PS3 related stuff in Zotaku, my patience in getting a PS3 is definitely shortening >.< Damn don’t think I can last for long hahaha. Damn poison!!
