3 Japanese Males Confirmed With Swine Flu

Swine flu reaches Japan! Three Japanese males from Osaka who returned from the United States have been confirmed to be infected swine flu, making them the first cases of Japanese nationals to contract the new flu.

The three—a high school teacher in his 40s and two teenage students from Osaka—had been staying in Oakville, Canada, on a school trip from April 24 and arrived at Narita airport from Detroit at around 4:30 p.m. Friday on a Northwest Airlines flight.

Swine Flu Hits Japan?

Seems that my fear is coming true.. ><
It is being reported that a Japanese woman who came to Japan on April 30th 2009 may be infected with swine flu. The particular woman, arrived in Japan via a North America Airline flight from L.A.

The passenger, a Japanese woman, was transported from the airport by ambulance to Japanese Red Cross Narita Hospital. The woman, accompanied by quarantine officers wearing protective suits, walked into the hospital without assistance.

Man Arrested for Threatening to Blow Up Konata’s House

A man by the name of Yosuke Ida, 22 years old this year was arrested for sending a letter threatening to blow up Konata’s house! The house was originally the home of Lucky Star manga creator Kagami Yoshimizu. Hokkaido Professors Receiving Gifts of Appreciations

Do you give gifts to your teachers or professors? It seems that Hokkaido Professors have received cash, gift certificates from PhD recipients. Common in your country?

Winny(P2P) Goes High Court

P2P has never been legal, but well there is always the saying – Do and not get caught!
In Japan, Winny is the most popular P2P file-sharing software.
The software developter, Isamu Kaneko, was prosecuted by Kyoto Prosecutors Office. Kaneko was found guilty and fined 1.5 million yen (1, 500, 000). Kaneko and the prosecuter both appealed to Osaka High Court. On 4th January, 2009, Toshimitsu Dan, a lawyer of the defendant, and supporters of the defendant had a meeting to share latest information about the trial.

The Slimmest Houses Are Made in Japan?

Was just surfing the net when I came across this article that caught my eye XD.

I clicked on another link in that article which brought me to an article on a slim house interior – located in Japan.

Site Area is 130 sqm while the Constructed Area is 65.7 sqm. Very small indeed. The interior looks beautiful though. The main theme of this house involves the slopes and architecture.

Rhino Escape Drill at Japanese Zoo is just LOL

Just like how we have fire alarm drills etc, Japan has their interesting drills too. At the Japanese Zoo, they carried out a Rhino Escape drill which was absolutely hilarious that I started laughing till tears flowed out XD.

I just lol-ed hard when the ears fall out! The fact that two people were inside controlling the fake rhino made it more unbelievable when I saw the video… Lol. We even have epic music too. O_O

Everyone Loves Curry Rice!

Another detailed report carried out by What Japan Thinks on Curry Rice in Japan. My response after reading that article was: Wow everyone loves curry rice! Even Konata(starts to remember of Lucky Star.. She’s good at whipping up Curry Rice! ^^)

Survey was carried out from 23 July 2008 to 7 August 2008, with a scale size of 9,921.
One of the questions, as shown in the chart above(Do you like curry rice?) has only 0.4% hating! Which is approximately 40 people. And though almost 98% of the sample size loves curry …
