Hello Kitty Vaccum Cleaner

Who is a fan of Hello Kitty? Not me definitely. I heard of her many times in my life, and I just prefer my Fate from Nanoha series. LOL.

For homemakers who always wanted a Roomba but thought it too uncute, iRobot and Sanrio have partnered up to create a Hello Kitty-branded version of their robotic vacuum cleaner. Now you can start doing your chores! Because this is too cute to resist!!
The idea sounds fun and cool, and I will definitely start cleaning the house, if I get Fate on my …

Mobile Phone Usage

A survey covered by Sankei reveals that while 60% of adults are against elementary school kids owning a mobile phone, 60% of elementary school kids say that they approve of them owning one. Some of the reasons why there was much disapproval was because that the kids should be able to pay for their own phone line.

But in Tokyo, you can spot many kids having mobile phones with them. Some parents want their kids to have the mobile phone so that they are able to keep tabs on their kid’s …

Girl Reported for Charging Phone

A female student was caught charging her phone at the train station while she was waiting for someone. She was “stealing” 0.015 watts of electricity. A passer-by saw this and called 110 to report her to the police. She was let off with a warning, knowing that it “was a bad thing to do.”

A spokesman for the police said “even if its 3 sen (0.3 yen), its still stealing.”
So is this called stealing to you? It might have been wrong to do so at a train station, but I see …

Tokyo’s Robotic Bike Parking Garage

Many people in Tokyo of Japan cycles. And it’s MANY! So many that the bike parking garage is awesome.

The gigantic, robotic, underground bike parking garage utilizes RFID. People drop off their bikes at the garage, where a robotic arm reads their RFID card to identify it. It then brings the bike to its designated parking spot among thousands of other bikes stored there. At the end of the day, a swipe of the card brings the bike back to the surface in about 10 seconds.
And all this for around 18 …

Learning Japanese? Where to Start from!

I’ve always been Otaku, but it was in early high school years I became Omega otaku and refused to stop watching dubbed anime… My ears couldn’t take it any more after I learned what a nice sounding language Japanese is… (besides the fact Japanese Seiyuu are generally better than their American Counterparts.) I was in french class at the time; my school was so cheap they only had Spanish and French as second language classes. Studying french… a language that almost made me this crazy, I couldn’t help thinking how …

Quote from Mainichi New:
“Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea” took home the Mimmo Rotella Foundation Award and the viewers’ choice award. Mamoru Oshii’s animated film, “The Sky Crawlers,” earned the Future Film Festival Digital Award, and Takeshi …

It has been reported that the Japanese only takes an average of 8 paid vacations in a year! Japan is one of the countries that takes the least paid vacations throughout the world.

Various reasons as to why they aren’t taking more leave are “too much work” and “boss and colleagues have not taken leave either.”
This article is based on a recent survey.
Eight days is considered very little, as to the 20 plus paid vacation days that Singaporean Employees have over here. And no! We are not comparable to Japan still(in …

Iron Man – Premiere in Japan

The hero flick “Iron Man” is soon to be shown in Japan. While I myself have caught the movie at the beginning of May earlier this year, I enjoyed the movie a lot. Wouldn’t mind watching again. Iron Man would premiere in Japan on September 27 2008.

Actor Robert Downey Jr met the press at Club Ex in Shinagawa yesterday for a promotional visit for the “Iron Man” movie which was about to be released in Japan.
While it sucks to see the movie months later, at least Robert Downey Jr was …
