Left 4 Dead 2 Getting Released In Australia After All

Australians who were bummed out by their Classification Board for refusing to give Left 4 Dead 2 a MA15+ rating, should be happy to note that they will be able to purchase the game after all!

Left 4 Dead 2 - Ban Lifted

The Classification Board has lifted the ban, however there is a catch to it. The Australian’s copy of the game will be a an edited version. Since the increased blood and gore was the main reason for the ban, the new edited version will “no longer contains depictions of decapitation, dismemberment, wound detail or piles of dead bodies lying about the environment.”

This is really weird though, because in the first game, it is possible to shoot off a zombie’s body parts easily, especially with a shotgun. However, it was still rated MA15+. If the sequel is going to be so “visual-friendly”, it may even be qualified for a “T” rating =S. Well, at least we know that Valve’s Source Engine is always easy to customize and edit *hint hint* =P.

I knew there was a catch. There’s ALWAYS a catch when it’s gets allowed after all.
I kinda think this edit version pretty much destroy the best bit of the game. :S

Haha yup, but I guess Valve had no choice since they really want to bring the game to Australia. Well, the source engine is one of the most modifiable engine out there, so I’m sure sooner or later some guy will release some sort of “Gore Pack” =S.

Maybe …. we should start treating games like we treat ppl buying Smokes, an ID would be required to buy the game if ya look under 18…… i don’t see why i should buy this game over buying a barbie game if censorship says we need to skip around in our game singing tra-la-la with a rainbow in the background, lol, i’ll get the non aussie version of this game for pc or a patch to give back what should not be taken. OR, i recon we should march into the “officials” homes who decided this crap for us and remove all items we think is unacceptable for their kids. (which would be the TV and radio cause the grandparents said so, lol)
