The second series of loli-pantsu anime Strike Witches is no longer being produced by Gonzo, and the project is being put into the hands of AIC. Recently Gonzo had been suffering from numerous economic woes; they currently have a deficit of $30 million  and had planned on firing up to 75% of its employees over the next 5 years.

In the past Geneon was responsible for anime such as Welcome to the NHK, Chrno Crusade, Full Metal Panic (Season 1), Samurai 7, Gankutsuou, Seto no Hanayome (with AIC) and many others. Gonzo’s most recent popular works are Rosario + Vampire and Saki. As far as I know there has been no news if this transfer of Strike Witches will delay the release of this series.

I’m not really interested in Strike Witches, but I’m sad to see the death knell for Gonzo. They produced a lot of stuff I didn’t like, but every so often they made something good.

I can say I to am not a fan. Even as a guy I find the panty shots to be way over the top. To the point where I cant even get into the story.
