Man Performs Ponyo Theme Song With Hands

Heard of Ponyo? It’s another one of Hayao Miyazaki’s movies. And yes I caught the movie when it premiered in Singapore! Simply love it – though I prefer if the story had more to it. The ending was really sudden ^^”.

I can’t blow any noise out from my hands!!! T_T. This guy should invent the hand flute or something. Lol.

Ponyo Film Opens at America

The perks of living in an Asia Country is that we get to watch Asia movies faster than those in the States XD. Ponyo Film has finally hit the shores of North America on Thursday, one minute after midnight at various theaters. The movie should start showing at other theaters on Friday.

As of Thursday, the movie has a 94% “Fresh” rating on the Rotten Tomatoes review aggregator website and a score of 91 out of 100 on the similar Metacritic website.

Ninokuni and Studio Ghibli

Several months ago I heard about a video game in production called Ninokuni, a Nintendo DS RPG by Level 5 (who also made Dark Cloud and Proffesor Layton Games). Its plot seemed pretty simple, about a boy who’s mother dies and he goes to another world to try and bring her back.  What stood out to me is that Studio Ghibli was behind working on the animated cutscenes. I found this very amusing since its a well known fact Miyazaki, Ghibi’s most famous director, hates video games.

Japanese movies loses top prize at Venice Film Festival

Remember back then when I blog about the movie Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea? Unfortunately that movie and two other Japanese Films wasn’t able to claim the Golden Lion Award at the 65th Venice International Film Festival! However, each movie did had a prize to pick up in other competitions ^^.
