2 Years of Blogging

I was doing the About page recently when I saw the date 4 June 2007. It has been 2 years since I started blogging! I have come a long way since then. Back then I was a complete noob, I didn’t know what was CSS about, how to upload banners, how to upload new themes for myself to use! I didn’t even know what the term “ftp” means when I first started out! And I applied for a hosted subdomain - with no blogging experience in the anime world. You could say I was like a baby running, when I should be walking(baby steps zen!)

I was like a complete com-idiot.

2 Years of Blogging

So it is now 2009, I have battled many fights(fighting to not go into hiatus mode LOL) to obtain an experience of roughly 2 years of blogging.

Initially when I first started on our old website, we concentrated mainly on anime reviews. Then I realised not many people were interested in reading reviews, especially if you did not even catch the anime series at all. Well I have the habit of not reading any reviews until I watch the first episode of any anime series myself. =/ Also since I was doing anime-blogging, I did read a variety of blogs and researched on the areas which would attract readers. Naturally, I saw “figurines” as the ideal way to attract more readers. Anime episode reviews are interesting and fun to write, but personally to me, I felt that following the way of “writing reviews” would be a chore sooner or later. You have to follow your episode reviews =/.

When I first started out blogging, I couldn’t figure out the point in paying 70 to 100 dollars for a figurine. But after looking through many figurine preorders(and posting on the blog), I sorta got poisoned to buy the 1/8 Movic Fate.T.Harlaown. I totally forgot the release date, but I think it’s around September/October 2007?

That being said, it was my first figurine purchase. I remember some advice from people, that “once you start, you can never stop” - for figurines. And well, I have to admit, they’re right! It is now 2 years later, and most of my money are now into figurines >_>. But after actively buying for 2 years, I have to admit that the flame and passion for figurine collecting is dying inside. There isn’t any end to all the figurines! The Nanoha Series figurines are milking my money like mad. In addition, with new shows there will definitely be new characters. And afterwards, figurines released for preorders -_-.

Ironically, I still enjoy writing updates for future figurines. It’s fun to look at the new releases for figurines.. LOL.

2 Years of Blogging

The journey of blogging has been long. Along the way I came to know of Nana Mizuki through Nanoha the anime series. I became an instant fan when my friend poisoned me with her LIVE Formula performance. Absolutely stunning and impressive. Now it’s Yui Horie - Hocchan. Oh when will the poison ever stop? XD

Zotaku couldn’t have been successful without my 2 other writers(1 of them who’s a busy busy M XD). As quoted from the About page, Bluesnow wrote

At some point I ran into our dear Zen and she asked if I wanted to write on “Zenime”. She probably regretted it shortly after she realized how poor my grammer is~ But I’m still here writing away.

Well at some point I probably did regret asking her to join me on my mission to spread our fangirlism to everyone(because she was so busy babysitting LOL) Yes we’re both girls, so you could say zotaku is unique from any other blogs out there, because we’re of a American&Asian Mixture XD.

These 2 years have been fun, with my writers, and readers. Let’s hope that the future will be fun too^_^

I can say that myself as well. LOL
I’m with ya on this one, the passion inside me is starting to fade away. It just never ends and with that said, it’s likely my last year in the figurine fandom.

I wish I knew this place 2 years back. One of the best sites to be on. I either leave smiling or laughing. xD

2 years of blogging. I don’t even know if my blog can survive until i celebrate my 2nd year.
Used to have lots of blogs last time, but all gave up within one or two months.
My present blog is the one which survive the longest up to date. XD

Happy anniversary there! Didn’t know that you’ve been blogging for two years already!

I don’t intend on collecting lots and lots of figures - I am pretty picky and am only getting those I really like, well except for things such as 1/144 gunpla and some action figures which are more affordable. Despite that, I still like reading reviews as well as news on upcoming figures.

T’is not easy to stay blogging consistenly. Neverthelss congrats for another year, and keep up with the good effort!

Congrats! I’ve been fighting hiatus status on and on throughout the year, and will be doing so again once school starts T.T

I can clearly remember my beginning. It was the winter of 08 when I first laid sight on Saber, and it was magical…XD

“Ironically, I still enjoy writing updates for future figurines. It’s fun to look at the new releases for figurines.. LOL.”

You mean, it’s fun to poison people. You’re evil D=<

Don’t lose heart. You’ll make lots of friends by blogging and from there expand your network. It’s a good way to get a good job in the future. If it’s not otaku updates, then do other forms of updates not having to be otaku related. I run a blog of mostly non-otaku stuff, but I enjoy being an otaku. It’s always good to step out of something for a while and enjoy the other side of life. So take some hiatus and go do things you’d normally wouldn’t do ^_^\

@ M: forgot to add you’re always having fever =P

@ Optic: You just lost your power to resist (Points to the other post)

@ bluesnow: Hope that it will be another fun year for us.. HAHA.

@ Chappy: Maybe you need a motivation.. LOL. For me it was the loots that kept coming in which was really my “motivation”.

@ Q: Looking forward to reading more mecha stuff from you! I don’t think that a person has to buy everything. As long as you do contribute to the industry one way or another, it’s great XD

@ GNdynames: Hell yeah it’s fun to poison people… But well, I get poisoned myself sometimes LOL

@ Blowfish: Keep those figu reviews coming in! Love your shots <3

    @ robostrike: Lol. I think I had enough of a hiatus =P.
