Samurai X: Worst Dub Ever Now Streaming

While it is very rare of me to say anything negative about my favorite series Rurouni Kenshin, I had never heard the Animax English dub till now. The dub which aired and was released in America was by Media Blasters and was by dub standards, decent.

If you for some reason wished to listen to the Animax Dub it is available free online at crackle.
Kenshin’s voice is actually tolerable, but it seemed a little bit too childish and hyper compared to any Kenshin I would imagine. Perhaps “Worst Dub ever” Is …

Top 10: Manga You’d Like to See Continued

I generally don’t link to polls, but I was fascinated by this one.
The survey, conducted by Oricon, took in 1,000 Japanese men and women in equal numbers, evenly distributed amongst those in their teens, twenties, thirties and forties.

1. Slam Dunk
2. Hana Yori Dango
3. Dragonball
4. Death Note
5. Hikaru no Go
6. Touch
7. Itazura na Kiss
8. Love Com
9. Candy Candy
10. Rurouni Kenshin

MY RUROUNI KENSHIN is on that list=3 !!!
I’m surprised with the results though… most of the manga (including Rurouni Kenshin) have pretty conclusive endings; a remade anime might be nice though. Death …

Rurouni Kenshin: English Reprint Includes New Story

American Manga distributor Viz has been re-releasing the entire manga of Rurouni Kenshin in big volumes. If you want to know how big the volumes are, this series was originally 28 volumes, and they managed to squeez it into just 9! The final volume, being released in March 2010 will contain two side stories Yahiko no Sakabato and another unnamed side story in all color which was never printed in English (which is probably Rurouni Kenshin: Haru ni Sakura, but the site does not go into detail.)
As a huge fan …

Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE Manga Ends on September 30

According to Weekly Shounen Magazine, CLAMP’s manga Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE will end in WSM volume 44 to be released on September 30th. It will be chapter 232. The final tankobon volume 28 will be released on November 17th along with CLAMP’s art book.
Did anyone else read/watch this magnificent series? I was an avid reader till it occurred to me that those Yaoi Fangirls CLAMP were definitely taking too much drugs. The last arc I found appealing was about Pirate Magician Vampire Fai, who’s real name wasn’t Fai, but Yuui, who …

Gankutsuou

Gankutsuou (The Count of Monte Cristo)
Episodes: 24
Genres: Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi, Thriller
Aired: Oct 6, 2004 to Mar 30, 2005
Producer: Gonzo
Gankutsuou is one of the most overlooked gems of an anime I know. The plot is roughly based on 17th century novel The Count of Monte Cristo. It focuses on the drama and strife of the rich nobility, and the evil it gives birth to. Gankutsuou adds vampires, Aliens, space colonies and even Mecha’s to this classic tale. Why at first this mixture is a bit baffling, and perhaps even …

Miku: First Vocaloid in Space

This is one small step for Miku… one giant step for vocaloid kind. Modest virtual pop Idol Hatsune Miku decided to take her rightful place in the sky to overlook all her happy fans for all of eternity. Her Minions plan on launching the first Miku satellite into space from Nevada USA on September 19th.
The satellite carries a movable figure of Hachune Miku (a derivative character of VOCALOID Hatsune Miku). The project involves Nojiri Housuke (the novel author of “Rocket Girls”).
The major object of the project is to demonstrate that …
